Outlook 2007 spelling not working

Last week Outlook 2007 decided to crash and I got a message that spelling is a problem and that it will be disabled. I thought fine, reboot should enable it back. But no, reboot did not help. So I tried Control Panel/Add Remove Progs and Repair for Office 2007 and did not help. After this I uninstalled Outlook and reinstalled it but no good. The solution (at least temporarily until it crashes again!) was much simpler:
  • In Outlook 2007 go to Tools and Trust Center
  • Choose Add-ins on the left pane and then at the bottom of the right pane next to Manage label choose Disabled Items
  • Click Go and it should display a list with one of the items disabled the speller
  • Enable it, click OK and that's it! Fixed!

I just bought Office 2007 Ultimate through a special offer with the OU Dren. I'll keep this post in mind if the same thing happens.

It is a bizarre error because you click check spelling (or press F7) and instead of warning you that the speller is not running/working, it just displays the message to say spelling check finished.

I heard about not bad application-repair Outlook, Recovered data, such as messages, notes, contacts and other Microsoft Outlook items will be saved to a new pst file (or several *.pst files), can save various Microsoft Outlook items as separate files with the .eml, .vcf and .txt extensions.
